Ray Rodgers, B Agr Sci, M Agr Sci, PhD, is a Principal Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia and an Associate Professor at the University of Adelaide, Australia. He was the former president of the Endocrine Society of Australia and is an editor for Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology.
His research career has made major original contributions in the area of ovarian function using a diversity of experimental approaches including physiology, histology, electron microscopy, morphometry, cell isolation, cell culture and molecular biology. His discoveries span the origins and function of luteal cells, regulation of steroidogenic enzymes, and follicular development and atresia. His laboratory is currently focusing on extracellular matrix and its roles in regulating folliculogenesis and luteal function.
